Once you’ve started orthodontic treatment, it’s just as important as ever before to maintain a good oral hygiene regimen. With braces and wires in your mouth, brushing and flossing takes some extra care to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Brush at least twice a day, and preferably after each meal to prevent the build-up of plaque and gum inflammation.
Continuing with routine visits to your general dentist at least every six months is important as well; visits to the orthodontist do not take the place of this regular care with your dentist and hygienist! Our assistants will review the techniques for oral hygiene when your braces are placed and are always happy to give additional help as needed. Our goal is to create a beautiful and healthy smile that you can be proud to show!
